What is the Department of Education Volunteering and Enrichment programme?

The Department of Education Volunteering & Enrichment (V & E) programme is a collaborative project between the Community and Volunteering Unit and the Department of Education at the University of York. The V & E programme enables 1st year undergraduate students to apply their curricular knowledge in a range of community settings and  requires students to produce a series of educational outcomes that will benefit the community setting in which they are volunteering.

The V & E projects that are taking place in May-June 2011 can be seen on the right-hand menu bar. Click on any link to see what students are doing and their reflections on their volunteering experiences. Every week students will be updating their project blogs with information about the activities they have been undertaking, the ways in which these link to their studies, the teamworking and project management skills they are gaining, and their more general reflections.
