Education blog 1

Dear all,

As you come to the end of your first fortnight of volunteering in the community, we would like you to begin contributing to your own project blog.

This week we would like you to reflect on the following three questions:

1. What do you think the educational aims of your project are? Describe in your own words what you think your project is supposed to achieve and how it relates to education (in terms of your own curriculum, as well as in terms of output for your community partner).

2. What have your experiences of working as a team been like so far? Reflect on the positives as well as on the challenges you have faced, and think about how you have worked together to strengthen the team and overcome these challenges. If you are still facing challenges in your team, reflect critically on what you could be doing to move forward in a constructive manner.

3. What has been the biggest challenge in terms of the project (and achieving your project aims) so far? This may relate to finding the specific focus of your project, getting in touch with necessary stakeholders, finding materials and so on.

Each team must contribute to this blog twice between now and the next set of questions. More than one person can (and should) write on the blog on behalf of the group. Remember that you are representing yourselves and the Department in your blogs and that external people (to the Department, as well as to the University) can read what you have written. Keep the language polite, respectful and formal where appropriate.

Happy blogging!
